Handel's Messiah (Aylmer)
Arcady invites audiences to their Handel's Messiah in support of Kids and Company on Friday, December 5th at 7:30 PM at St. Paul's United Church in Aylmer, ON. Experience the beloved holiday work in Arcady's unique Baroque style that pays homage to the original production. Audiences will have the chance to see Arcady's professional chorus of soloists and chamber ensemble once more bring to life this Christmas tradition. Known for his dynamic, energetic interpretation of this triumphant work, Ronald Beckett will direct his ensemble in a jubilant rendition of the timeless oratorio. Don't miss your chance to hear the ensemble that specializes in Messiah. Audience members should secure their seats early as Arcady's Messiah is a usually sold-out event. Monday, December 8, 2025 Doors open at 6:00 p.m. | Film starts at 7:00p.m Strand Theatre, 55 Robinson Street, Simcoe Experience a unique screening of Christy, starring Sydney Sweeney. The film tells the remarkable story of professional boxer Christy Martin, one of the first women to gain recognition in the male-dominated world of boxing, and the personal obstacles she overcame along the way. The film was featured at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). This screening is part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, with all proceeds supporting Haldimand-Norfolk Women's Services, including G.I.R.L.S Power Camp, which helps local grade 8 girls build confidence, leadership, and resilience. Tickets: $25 per person. Optional snack and wine boxes also available for purchase. Post-Film Discussion: Stay after the film for a thoughtful discussion.
